i’ve been accepted to this program, just wondering if it is prestigious and a good use of time? i’ve also been accepted to other programs, but i need to decide quickly. Can anybody let me know what this program is like, the daily schedule, what you do, how intensive it, is it worth it, etc. thanks

I’ve heard that it’s pretty hard-core and definitely not a waste of your time. However, it’s Dartmouth’s Debate Institute that is the most intense though. They attend classes from 8:30 to 5:00 and there are classes on the weekends too. If you’re serious about debate then I think you should do the workshop. However, if you plan to major in science or something, maybe you should consider some of your other options. What other programs are you thinking of attending this summer?

I went to the Dartmouth Debate Institute the summer after my freshman year and it was certainly worth my time. However, if you don’t get enjoyment from debate/only do it for college, it will be hell. It’s prestigious, but the achievements in your debate career due to the camp are far more significant than actually attending the camp. I have to say, it was a fun experience Great lab leaders

i second that- DDI is amazingly prestigious, my friend got into their tob lab last year and earned himself two bids to the TOC this year. so it’s definitely worth your time- but really expensive :P
