Dartmouth Haikus

Topic: What you love most about Dartmouth.
Form: Haiku (5-7-5 syllable pattern)

Go!

Oh, dear old Dartmouth
Home of the famed beer pong champs
Someday, I’ll play too

How about a limerick?

AHEM:

There once was a school old as shale,
Whose graduates liked to drink ale,
Then came the rankings,
And up shot the fakings,
And now its a backup for Yale.

bravo!

and yeah wow, thanks Raspberry! something to do when i’m bored in class tomorrow lol, i’ll think up a GOOD one hee

“At Dartmouth”

even in winter
piled is knowledge and pride
hella more than snow

never really was much of a poet.

thanks, fixed it.

Kosuke- the last line has 4 syllables, not 5!

lol. and line 2 is 6 syllables. but i’ll shut up until i write the first one for the day…hmm…

Unlike H. Y. P.
Dartmouth proudly cares about
Undergraduates!

Hidden in the snow
Nurturing spirit, passion
Thrives the old Big Green…:)

Freezing, blustering
The winters there last nine months
The way I like it.

I think it’s “hell-a” with two syllables.

Dadaist2, that was great! I’m still laughing…

I don’t get it

i counted “piled” as 2 and not 1.

To Dartmouth I followed my nose.
In the Big Green, I wiggled my toes.
I thought it’d be nice
To live in the ice
But come winter, I was throughly froze!

“Come visit the best place to be seen.”
“Oh Harvard? I know what you mean.”
But No. 1 looked quite flustered;
“You’re mistaken,” he blustered,
“When I said ‘the best’ I meant Big Green!”

Through the misty night
See Baker’s green pilot light
Quietly burn bright.

Edit: For all who don’t know, there is a green light in the top of Baker Tower that is on during special times; e.g., Winter Carnvial, Homecoming, etc. They lit it last weekend for the beginning of the Hockey ECAC tournament, with Dartmouth playing Yale at home.

There was an old man from Nantucket…wait a minute, this isn’t a Haiku

Though I love Dartmouth
All this waiting is making
me a crazy girl.
