The Hanover Inn one is working for me. I can see the freshmen running right now!

Thanks. I did get the Hanover Inn webcam to work - not the greatest detail, but you can see them running, that’s for sure! Wish I had sound as well!

Getting a little better image now - color instead of the grainy black and white of a few minutes ago.

I also managed to finally get on the Baker Tower webcam - it’s black and white, as you know, but gives another perspective. The Hanover Inn goes from grainy black and white to color, but at least provides a view of the action.

OMG, thanks you guys, the Hanover webcam is great, yay I think I see S running! Not really, but I do see some students running as the fire is burning down. I sent a link to the Dartmouth Flickr website to see if friends could spot S’s graffitti. Check it out here: [Dartmouth Homecoming, October 27-31, 2010 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!](Dartmouth Homecoming, October 27-31, 2010 | The Class of 201… | Flickr)

Whoa, I guess the 100 ti leaves we sent did not help the Big Green against the Crimson. Oh well, S posted that he had a great time at Homecoming. Facepaint and all. Now its time to get back to work and help all those juniors out there that want to go to college.

^^I had mixed emotions on the football game since I’m also a Harvard parent, but in the end I found myself rooting more for Dartmouth.

Daughter reported that the bonfire was a lot of fun. It had rained earlier but did not rain while they were down there, so she and her friends stayed more or less the whole time shouting “Worst Class Ever!” at the running 14s.

I’ll be on campus myself on Wednesday evening.

D texted Friday night and said she ran all 114 laps, 8+ miles. (She ran XC in HS.) There were about 100 that completed 114 with 7 out of 20 on her floor among them.

I had a funny thing happen. I was with my co-workers watching a random video on youtube of the bonfire and I could have sworn I saw my daughter jogging by! I emailed her and sent her the link and sure enough, it was her!

Hey firstonetogo, I think I saw my son in the same video.

Hey Parents, Check out the “Recent Photos” link above in “CC Resources for Dartmouth College” to view the 2 pictures of the student section at Homecoming football game. We sent a box of Hawaiian Ti Leaves for S to pass out to the students. Dartmouth photographer Joseph Mehling (D’69) took some great shots. See if you can spot your son or daughter cheering for the Big Green!

Hi All, getting closer to the Thanksgiving holiday…can’t wait. Curious…do any of your students have classes where the teacher doesn’t tell you your grades? Just curious. One teacher doesn’t let you know until the class is done…that is like being at work and never know how you are performing to get a raise. I don’t hear of it that often. I wouldn’t like to be in that position. This is a class for a grade, not just an audit or pass/non-pass.
~
Either way, looking forward to the holiday. heard they had some cold days/light snow up at Dartmouth.

They had some snow one night recetnly but not enough to collect into a snowball.

I was on campus Wednesday night and it was chilly but there were still lots of kids out and about.

Coureur- sounds great. My daughter loved it (now she wants more warm clothes- reason to shop). I fly in Thanksgiving week (hopefully not too cold)

Did your student ever have a class where the teacher never tells you your Grades? I’m not to much in support of it.

^^To the best of my knowledge most of her profs at Dartmouth have not told specific letter grades prior to the final grades, but they do tell what you scored on the midterm exams and papers and what the class median was so that you can make a reasonably accurate estimate of where you stand.

Next Saturday’s football game Brown v. Dartmouth is on National TV, VERSUS channel. Hopefully the Big Green will pull out a win and they show the student section.

Going to Hanover this weekend. Going to the Dartmouth/Brown game. The weather should be pretty good. Staying in Norwich and walking into town. Norwich Inn keeps track of how many times you stay and gives frequent stayers priority for Graduation. Son is a '12

Lucky guy! If you stop by the student section my son should have another bunch of ti leaves to cheer the Big Green on. Tell him Magnum sent you.

Right you are Redondo Dave. Would have stayed more often had I known. Will stay as often as I can if I get the chance again. Have a great time this weekend.

Small warning about Thanksgiving. For my child, it was always pretty stressful because finals were looming. He needed a lot of space.

Yes…my daughter doesn’t want to fly far, so I am going there and then to Mass. to visit family. That way she can stay closer to campus. Wish I could be there for a game…maybe next year.
