Great to see S in the stands at the Brown football game on VERSUS tv. Maybe even Redondo Dave too. Big Green could use some defensive help, gave up 15 points in the 4th quarter to lose by 7. Small crowd, heard Dartmouth sponsored a trip to Montreal for students so many were gone this weekend. For those of you who have kids coming home for Thanksgiving, have a great holiday.

Great day at the game. The weather could not have been better. I wore shorts and sandals to the game. I saw Magnumâs son handing out the Ti Leaves. Brown had an incrediblly gifted tall reciever that caught everything in sight. It was still a fun game. Had a nice time visiting with my son and his friends. My wife and I got to play pong on Saturday for the first time.

At which frat?

canât wait for the spring family weekend. I will be in NH next week to get D for Thanksgiving and go to Mass. to see our family. She didnât want to go far, to study part of the time with finals coming up. I think they are done by the 8th. Already my D wonât be home for Spring break, doing an Altern. Spring Break (ASB), starts an internship in January, etc. It is really going well and she is happy.

Tee hee tee hee. Son is bringing home a girl for Thanksgiving.

OOH! Big step, VeryHappy. Youâll have to be on your best behavior! :)

Have a Happy Thanksgiving⊠I fly up there on Tues. night to pick up my daughterâŠto go see the rest of the family. Busy time for the students, getting ready for finals, picking classes, etc.

Canât believe first quarter is almost done! It went by fast. Now that I am here alone, I have been clearing out things from years of school, etc. Already donated alot and still alot to go⊠Kept busier than I thought I would with catching up with old friends, wine/cheese events, Tapas parties, etc. Live in an area that has all type of eventsâŠ

does anyone know if Dartmouth needs a violist for the symphony orchestra and if so how much could that help an application?

bump please

Sorry, I donât know anything about the music dept/symphony, perhaps another family knows. This is parent thread, you may also want to try on the 2014 or other Dartmouth Thread also.

If you are talented enough DSO will make room for you whether they âneedâ another violin or not.

Consolation: She had better be on her best behavior also.

I second that one VH. I am sure she will be the nervous one. Imagine the pressure of being under the microscope. Hope she passes the test!

For parents of '14s, it will be interesting to hear the stories of them surviving (so far) the first semester of college. Was it what they expected? Is Dartmouth the âright fitâ? Are they happy? Hope to hear from all of you. I have to hear it secondhand from my cousin, who is hosting Sâs circle of friends in NJ. Happy Thanksgiving.

Our daughter has absolutely loved being at Dartmouth. She has found an extremely close group of friends with her floormates, has gotten involved in great activities, and has really liked her classes, even though she has struggled with the level of expectations for some of them. A great fit.

D '14 arrived home yesterday morning after an overnight train ride. We are slowly finding out more about he experiences, but she is pretty regular in her communications so thereâs nothing that is a surprise. Sheâs glad to be home. âI can get milk whenever I want without paying for it!â

Son is home for a couple of days. He will head back on Saturday. We will be going to the Dartmouth vs. UCLA 3rd Round NCAA Menâs Soccer Championship on Sunday night. The game will be at UCLA. I am not sure when the last time Dartmouth played UCLA in any sport. Dartmouth is the Cinderella in this yearâs tourney.

Must be nice to have your kids back at home. Count your blessings. Sure is quiet here. No more pitter patter of larger footsteps. ha. Big Green Soccer is amazing this year. Unseeded Dartmouth won two road games to advance to the third round of the NCAA Tournament. First, the Big Green dominated Monmouth, 4-0, in the first round and then upset ninth-seeded Notre Dame, 2-1 in overtime. UCLA and Dartmouth had two common opponents this year - San Diego and Notre Dame. Both the Bruins and Big Green won those games by one-goal margins.

According to the UCLA website, this is the first meeting ever between UCLA and Dartmouth and only the seventh game the Bruins have ever played against an Ivy League school. The Bruins are 4-2 all-time against Ivy League opponents, with the most recent game coming in 2006, when the Bruins defeated Harvard in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, 3-0. Go Big Green! I wonât send you Hawaiian ti leaves because my ti leaves for big Green football are 0-2. Happy Thanksgiving.

Picked up my Dâ14 at Manchester and had Thanksgiving in Mass with family. May go back early to Vermont to look around â maybe Queche, Burlington, Stowe before I fly out Sunday night. D mentioned the expectations are high, but so far so good. She does love it and glad she is there. Happy Thanksgiving.

Cranky kid over Thanksgiving weekend. Too much work to do, too little time. Left this afternoon with girlfriend so they can go back and do work without all the distractions. (Ummmm â like, each other?)

Iâve never seen so much dirty laundry in one place at one time . . . .

Heâll be back in only about two weeks.

Left our house at 5:15am and was back in Hanover at 7:00pm. Pretty good turnaround. Busy 8 days. Hope he stays on task. He said it was cold in Hanover. A couple of inches of snow and a little bit of ice.
