Dartmouth peer letter..too long?

I’m writing one for a friend. Is it bad if it exceeds a page? It is 1.5 pages.

Thanks. and Do I have to make it a 1 sheet, double sided paper? or can i just do two pages? (it says write on reverse side)

The one I wrote for my friend was nearly 2 pages (double spaced, so I made it single spaced). If it really conveys some great stuff, I think you’re good. Just make sure you’re not totally boring the admissions directors with how “fine” and “upstanding” your friend is. :D

it’s fine if you write over a sheet or even 2 sheets but make sure you’re not repeating yourself and tell about the person- good and bad.

Thank you.

Should I really address “bad” things?

not if they didn’t turn out good at the end

I didn’t. I talked about the negative perceptions I had about her before I met her, and then talked a bit about how getting to know her disproved everything I’d previously believed. I wouldn’t go, “My friend is really smart, but is a total social recluse. You should totally accept her though!”
Not so much.

hahahaha. That’s what I did. I talked about how I assumed he’d be like every other dumb, irresponsible surfer at my school, and how I learned otherwise.

Thanks so much for everyone’s input!
