Data Science Domain Emphases?

Wondering if it was possible to do multiple domain emphases as a Data Science major? Also, does the D.S. major teach coding skills too, and would it be good for someone interested in UI/UX or Product Design/Management?

Any insight is much appreciated. Thanks!

You can do multiple DEs, but the school will recognize only one of them. However nothing to prevent you from listing the multiple ones on your resume.

The first 2 DS classes will involve lots of coding in projects. Data 8 is meant for beginners so there will be a lot of Python learned in that class. DS is not meant for UI or product design but you do have your 2 CID classes that you have a lot of flexibility for, plus any other electives.

What’s CID? And if you happen to have any info on what would be a good major choice for someone interested in product design/management in tech and business. Thanks

What type of products do you see yourself designing?

generally speaking, tech, but perhaps app development as well

CID = Computational and Inferential Depth.
