I took the SATs in 2005, which I almost forgot about but thought it would allow me to apply to schools such as Rice that require them. I just got an email from Rice today though telling me I should retake as other students will have more recent SATs.

Other schools I’m looking at say to not send it if not recent, I think Carnegie was it.

Should I be deterred from applying? These 2005 SATs are horrendous, except for in the writing/reading section. But I do feel it shows a lot of growth from then and my current grades.
