Dating as an elderly single woman (never married!)

Since I live several stops from Park Slope on the R train/exits off the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, he’s definitely in my territory. And his husband is from Staten Island. I live a very short walk from the Verrazzano Bridge which connects that borough to Brooklyn. It’s all my territory. I appreciate the words of caution and will definitely be careful. I’ll report back after the photo shoot a week from today. Thanks, all, and thanks, @Marilyn, for the links.

What did you google to find him? I knew there must be a reason he wasn’t easily discoverable–probably people who want him know where to find him.

I don’t know anything really about oldmom but I’m surprised that everyone is GREAT!–spend 1K doing this. Disconcerting to me. Maybe it’s just me.

Please remember that CC is not a place to drum up business. Hope you have a positive experience and stay safe.

I think I put his website name in the search box; also tried Date Coach Noah reviews.

I like to think one of my superpowers is being able to track down info on the web. My analytical self demands it.

If you are so moved, we are now invested and would of course love you to find someone to spend time with…let us know how some of the “next steps” go!!

Will do! I have enjoyed sharing this experience (so far) with you.

I emailed Noah the Forbes link and this was his response:

happy to talk about that article. I’d stick with the sites we discussed but no harm in exploring others if you like.

This doesn’t sound like something I’d do, but I’m not OP and have no need to change her mind. She’s in the best position to know whether she can afford the $900 so I’m inclined to wish her well, as I did above, and not get invested in pointing out all the pitfalls.

Best of luck!!

Good luck and stay safe!

Wishing you the best! My father-in-law married a 75 yo woman who had never been married after my MIL passes away. They had a great relationship and it was interesting to see how different it was from his marriage to my MIL.

Hope you enjoy the adventure and meet someone great!

We have a few female friends who have done online dating. Probably late 60s to early 70s. The women report lots of scammers so beware.

Both of our kids met their partners (ShawSon married, ShawD not) and have never mentioned scammers, but older women have. Older men that we know never actually made it to online dating as they were claimed very quickly (too quickly in one case).

I hope the dating arrangements work out nicely.

The discussion got me wondering if older singles do much “as a group”? When son was in high school, I loved the fact that his big gang of boy/girl classmates arranged a lot of group outings. Instead of a lot of boy/girl dates, there were outings arranged by big group texts (sometimes painful in the days before unlimited text messages). Somebody would do a group text such as, “If you want to see XYZ movie, meet us near the ticket office at 7:45pm”.

I had the photoshoot this afternoon/evening and it went just fine. Noah was exactly as I expected him (medium height slender but not skinny gay guy, father of an almost-2-year-old and a 3-year-old with his husband, warm, courteous, helpful). From what he said and I saw on his phone, we got good pix. He’s off to a (dating coach?) convention in Las Vegas and we will reconvene in a week on Zoom.
