<p>Don’t try to do the impossible, you cannot change their viewpoints, no arguments are going to be “good enough”. </p>
<p>The purpose of my suggestion is to inform them of what is going on in your life. To make an effort to maintain communications.</p>
<p>I can imagine that it is very tempting to abandon them, literally or in spirit. It’s not usually so great to let that happen, though. Are things that extreme? Instead, perhaps simply try to maintain communications (while establishing and continuing whatever friendships or dating relationships seem right to you).</p>
