@JustOneDad and @jym626, I have a credential working with ages “0 to 99”; we are required to answer questions, when we renew our credentials with the state via a yes/no check box:
stating that we have maintained a professional relationship with students, staff and parents,
and have not had any untoward relationship with current or former students.
I agree with Jym626, it’s reeks of the creep and abuse factor. It doesn’t matter that he’s been out of school for 3 years. My coworker was put on administrative leave for dating a former student and they had to investigate how they met and how the relationship evolved. This was a student who had been out of the high school for 5 years and whom had never had a class with the teacher. He ended up being transferred.
