My 21yo son has been in a relationship for almost 3 years with a girl from his college. They have been together most of the quarantine but now he is at a summer job in WVa and she is in TN studying for the MCAT. They had planned to get together several times this summer but now they won’t see each other until August. I don’t see them social distancing when they both get back to their college town. They each have apartments with roommates but I know they will still get together almost every day. They are careful when out around others and wear masks etc. but I just have to trust them. They know the risks.
My S hadn’t been in a relationship for a few years. He met a woman last fall, and by winter were a couple. But it was still pretty new. They each lived with a roommate but near each other. Covid hit and GF’s roommate moved out, and S and GF decided it made sense for him to move in with her, MUCH earlier than they would have otherwise. It seems to be working so far. They live near us, but have only seen him briefly outside our home and her once outside our D’s home. Hoping now that the area has cooled down a bit, we can get some visiting in before wave two, if we all isolate in tandem.
