Dating younger men

Two of my Ds have significant others that are two years younger than they are, one’s husband and one’s fiance. The difference is that they are both in their mid-20’s +. The age difference isn’t the major issue with the OP’s D’s situation, in my opinion. The major issue is that the boy is 15 and she is presumably older than 18.

You couldn’t get my PM because there is no space !

The age formula for teens was given to me once. Age + (age/2 - 7) is ideally the max age for their dates. The oldest 15 year old should date comes out to be 15 and 1/2 years. Or the youngest date for an 18 years old would be 16 3/4 years.

I think you meant age/2 then plus 7

fauxmaven, my inbox is always full, sorry about that! A lot of kids and parents PM me for advice on theatre programs. It’s best to email me, which you can do by clicking on my username and using the drop down menu.

Her parents or whomever wrote the narrative is bad at math. The man is > 3x (not > 2x) the age of the 16-year-old–16 x 3 = 48; he’s 51!. I shudder to think how very old she will look as she gets older if that’s what she looks like @ 16! ICK! Hope he’s saved up a lot in whatever he’s been doing all these years if he expects to support himself and this aspiring young actress, especially if she plans to attend college!!!

I have friends who married when she was 42 and he was 28. They are still married, 15 or so years later, and apparently very happy. He was her first successful long-term relationship. Her parents thought he was a gold digger, or after a US passport. They were wrong. :)
