Daughter who's passion is singing

Its a little old (Sep 2014) but here’s a great place to start. Billboard Magazine published a list of the top schools to study the Music Indistry (http://www.billboard.com/articles/business/6259155/top-music-business-schools-colleges-programs)

Some great programs that aren’t on the list are:

Loyola New Orleans
University of Memphis
McNally Smith (Minneapolis)
Columbia College of Chicago
University of the Arts
SUNY Purchase (more Jazz and Musical Theatre)
Drexel University
Catawba College (in very suburban Charlotte, NC)
UMass Lowell

My D is a Senior, also from New England, loves to sing and wants to go to school in an urban area. She’s in the throes of audition season now for her chosen schools and will be making her decision in the next few months. The University of Colorado Denver has a fantastic Music Industry summer program that’s more bang for the buck (2 weeks for the price of a Berklee weekend) than Berklee that my D did last year and loved. She’d done Berklee a couple of summers before.

We looked a lot of schools and you can read my thread on Music Business and Contemporary programs here if you like. (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/1666721-contemporary-vocal-performance-and-music-business-programs-p1.html)
