Daughter's friend's parents don't want her at their house ?

I have decided to politely let the neighbor/ friend’s mom know that our daughter can just stay home after all…I do think it is the dad, though really don’t want to get into even further.
I just don’t want to create an uncomfortable situation for anyone, least of all the girls.
They don’t have to know that she overheard the conversation

My daughter isn’t comfortable being alone and wouldn’t like to go to sleep without an adult in the house , but in the long run , I think that she would feel better knowing that she doesn’t have to wonder if a parent is uptight or feeling put upon by her presence
When I was growing up , my mother wasn’t the most welcoming towards our friends and it bothered me…this is why I have made my home a comfortable place for my children’s friends
Just tonite , her friend joined us for dinner again, since were hosting an acquaintance that she knows and will soon be heading back to their home in eastern Europe. I won’t change the way she is welcomed into our home , no matter how our daughter is treated in return

I think you have made a good decision. Will the nights when the grad student is late be school nights? If so, without making a big thing about it, maybe let her know that you are there to answer her text messages all evening, but that she will probably just want to go to sleep at the regular time.

If you wont be somewhere where you can have a text conversation, maybe there’s another adult willing to stand by. Of course, most15 year olds will be having text conversations with 100 other kids.
