Dauphin Island Sea Lab Summer Program

My D13 was accepted to the Marine Science program. Anyone have any experience with this program or anyone else applied/accepted?

My daughter just returned from this month-long program and couldn’t be happier. She was thrilled with every aspect - from the teachers, counselors, activities to the food. The course included a trip to New Orleans to see the aquarium, an overnight trip to Panama City Beach for snorkeling and several outings on the Sea Lab boat for trawling, fishing and long line fishing for sharks and rays. The state of Alabama recommends schools give high school credit for the course which includes homework, tests and projects. There was not a lot of free time, but that was not a complaint. The high school course was for 15-17 y.o., but they also offer a shorter middle school program. They also evidently have the best cafeteria food ever. The blog for last years program is posted at [DISL Discovery Hall Programs High School Program](http://blogs.disl.org/dhphs) This years blog hasn’t been posted for the public yet. We weren’t able to find much info beforehand, but it surpassed any expectations we had. If anyone would like more info, feel free to ask.
