Hi, I didn’t recieve any aid from Davidson but I really want to go to this school (my 1st choice). My parents aren’t willing to pay for the cost so I’ll have to take out at least 80000+ loan. Should I go to Michigan instead because I have the benefit of in-state tuition? Please help!

While I love Davidson, please don’t take out an 80,000 loan, especially if you like UMich too.

But I don’t like UMich that much. I really don’t eant to go to a large university. I aslways wanted to attend a liberal arts school. My parents simply think its not worth to pay 40000+ for undergraduate studies when I can get a “great” education for half the cost.

Is there maybe another option? A smaller school where you got a scholarship?

80,000 in loans probably isn’t “worth it” (although that is a personal determination), unless you think you’ll be in the position to pay them back, which probably isn’t the case.

I got a sizeable amount from Denison (15000 scholarship). Grinnell gave me nothing too. I also got scholarships from Skidmore but my parents aren’t willing to pay for that either.

Have you talked to the Davidson finaid office about your situation? They may be able to help.
