Davis to Berkeley Tranferring

Asking this for my younger sister!
She is currently a student at UC Davis.
After a year of internships and studying, the programs in UC Berkeley really appealed to her.

Her plans in college:
1st year: UC Davis Environmental Science and Management
2nd year: (Exchange program in London School of Economics, UK) Environmental Policy with Economics
3rd year: (Thinking of transferring?)

What are your suggestions in transferring from Davis to Cal?
Thanks in advance!

Also, she may be taking a gap year/semester after the 2nd year to work with professors in another country for environmental-related research!

Has she even visited Berkeley? The schools are soooo different. Does she want to leave Davis? Will she be changing her major?

@aunt bea:

 • She worked closely with UC Berkeley staff and students from her high school activities/internships, so that’s one of the reasons why Berkeley appealed to her a lot!
 • She wants to stay in the same major because of the experiences she had in Berkeley.
 • Yes, she wants to leave Davis, although she loves it!

She will need a minimum number of units to transfer and must not got over a certain amount to remain eligible to transfer. I think the range is 60-80 but double check that.
