Daylight Savings Time! Best Day of the Year? - Yeah or Nay

Hate it. They stole an hour from my weekend and I have to wait till fall to get it back.

Love everything about it! I can’t imagine anyone not being ready for spring by now. I often wonder why some people have a hard time adjusting as I’ve never had that experience.

The weekends I have to be at work at 7 AM on the Sunday the clocks, change, I feel it and not happily. But after a few days, no problem.

Nay! I want my hour of sleep back. And I had an event super early this morning which made it really suck this year.

I like driving home from work when it is still light and being able to get outside in the evenings. It is an adjustment in the mornings though. I’m an early riser so it’s really early getting up now!

Not a problem for me. For the last two weeks, my internal body clock had been going off at 5 AM. (Too early for me.) Well, this morning, it went off at 6 AM, just right.

I like DST. I’m used to traveling across time zones, so the adjustment is not a big deal.

All y’all who love DST: Why not just make it that year-round, then? Would that be a positive, and also be pleasanter for those of us whose body clocks just do. not. handle. the time shift well? Or is there something happily magical about standard time, as well?

It messes up my morning runs for awhile, and I have trouble adjusting. I do like the evenings, though.

DST does not work with globalization.
It messes up my meeting time with the attendants from different countries.
It creates a lot of bugs in the software developed by my company.

It is funny to me, how people think they are gaining sunlight when the clock is just shifting. What if we never had had DST? I think we would have shifted our hours earlier to follow the sun naturally.

^ Exactly.

I love it. I enjoy being outside in the evenings and wish they would keep DST year round.

Love having long evenings of daylight! I which it was year-round.

You’re gaining sunlight in the hours (for me) when it can be used better. It doesn’t do me much good to have extra sunlight in the morning - I already get myself ready for work, pack my breakfast and lunch and walk the dog daily in the morning and get to work by 7:30am. I’m not getting up any earlier! However, to have the extra daylight after 4pm - THAT sunlight I can use!

Hate waking up in the dark - can’t do it! I don’t like that they changed it to two weeks earlier. And being in New England it’s really hard. Only good thing is the puppy slept in this morning - even if I didn’t! Maybe she won’t transition to DST and we’ll all be able to sleep in on weekends!0

While I like it being light later at night, I don’t like losing an hour today.

Have never had DST in HI. Didn’t find it all that helpful when living in CA or OR. I do like sun much more than overcast. Glad they do it on Sunday morns do folks aren’t too thrown off for the day and week.

Why can’t we just pick one time and stick with it? It seems silly to change clocks anymore. And if I got a vote I’d pick this time.

Yay, I love it! Add me to the list that wishes it were year round. I live at the extreme eastern edge of my time zone, so we get the worst of the early sunsets.
