Daylight Savings Time! Best Day of the Year? - Yeah or Nay

Woo! For me, it’s one of the BEST days of the year - yeah!!!

DST means more time for “living” after work. Which means more time outside. Which means more exercise and activity. Which means a better feeling me!

Not everyone feels this way about DST - what is your take?

Love the evenings…hate the mornings for at least a week…yawn!!

I actually like it on this time . . . it just annoys the living crap out of me that we change. Pick a time and stay on it!!!

No change for me. Asia doesn’t do DST.

I like proper astronomical time. High noon should be high noon.

i like it except around the summer solstice. I don’t like it not being dark until 10. But when we are weeks out either way I like it.

It also drives me crazy because I have a daughter in school in Arizona. No DST there. (Except for on the Navaho nation, which is huge). Try, just try, to leave D’s school and head east and make it to Albuquerque in time for dinner!

Love it. I really like that they moved the change date up a few weeks in spring and later in fall then it used to be.

I like it too, makes we want to get out and enjoy the outdoors before it gets too hot in the summer.

I was really liking seeing the sunrise on my way to work lately. Oh well…at least my afternoons will be longer!

If it could ONLY stay light till after 9pm from now till end of October! That would be ideal for me.

Nay! And it comes too early. I am not ready for spring in the middle of March.

I like it because now the clock in my car says the correct time.

It’s a waste of money and labor.

I love it. With more daylight I am more energetic. I enjoy being outdoors and enjoy the beauty of the season.
March to October is my favorite time of the year. My mood is much better during the spring and summer.
It makes me want to go out for long walks, get fit, and be healthier. I look forward to seeing all the spring flowers and going to the farmers markets. For me winters are cold and depressing.

I try to go out running before work most mornings, so have been enjoying the morning light…now back to going out in the dark! Also it’s really still too cold here (northern CT) to enjoy the extra hour in the evening. I’d prefer the beginning of DST be moved back to where it was before that last change…

I live in Alaska, and so it’s simply silly to change times—the difference between summer and winter daylight is so large as to make a time shift totally not worth it at all.

And when I lived in Florida it was equally silly to change times—the difference between summer and winter daylight is so small as to make a time shift totally not worth it at all.

And growing up in Maryland, well, at least it made logical sense for the latitude, but the difficulties in adjusting to the change in schedule? It took me a couple weeks back then, and it’s only gotten worse as I’ve gotten older—I really don’t see how it helps at all.

I love it. But I know a lot of people hate it. It’s really interesting how many people find it so hard to adjust to the hour change. I’m not a creature of habit – I don’t go to sleep or wake up at the same time, so I don’t have a rigid body clock and so I hardly notice the hour adjustment. I remember when my kid was an infant it was more of a hassle.

Absolutely love it. As I am moving, I have been trying to be super nose to the grindstone of late. So much easier as spring comes, time of sunset or not. I get a lot done when the days are long.
