Dazzle dry manicures

My D who likes the dipped manicure is like @MomofWildChild. The gel or dipped nails keep her from biting them.

Dazzle does or does not mess up your nails? I have been unable, over the decades, to have gel or acrylic or any other product that takes away a layer of your nails.
.

I have short as I can cut them nails and have never colored in anyway (except I do my own toe nails).

But a blogger I follow has recently been promoting these - and I wonder what you who do do your nails think about them.

They are almost like nail stickers - but they are not - apparently it’s actual nail polish - you can stretch, trim, shape them on your nails.

Here’s a video how it works:

Just curious what the nail gurus think.

@somemom Dazzle Dry does not remove the top layer of the nail - it can be removed with regular polish remover, but I’ve found that after three or four weekly manicures in a row, my nails have become very dry and prone to peeling. The process uses a special prep that goes on before the basecoat, probably so that the product adheres well. That prep liquid is probably the culprit. I still have a Dazzle manicure, but not every time - once a month or so when I would like the manicure to last longer.

The one thing I know for sure is that I am completely incapable of applying polish properly to either my fingernails OR my toenails.

My manicurist uses Dazzle Dry base and top coats with OPI or Essie colors. Dazzle Dry speeds up drying time. I don’t usually want color on my hands so she just uses the base and top coats for a nice shine.

@Consolation I have gotten better at applying polish at home. One bead of polish per nail applied in three strokes: side, side, center. Place the bead close to but not at the nail bed. The curvature of the nail will allow the polish to spread to the edges. More than three strokes and it will get thick and gloppy.

I am also really bad at doing my toes or fingernails myself, but if I absolutely must I use the Elmer’s glue hack. It works surprisingly well!

I tried this stuff:

It does work but is not as perfect as I wanted it to be. Used it for painting my toenails.
