no public college for DC students???
or do they go to maryland??
california kid is just wondering…

there is udc, but i do believe they get instate tuition at any public school in the country

Oh yeah I heard about that. Crazy.

what they get instate tuition at any public school in the country???
do they pay tax on us???or what???

Are you actually whining about this?
You do realize DC residents pay taxes without having an actual representative in Congress.

You do realize that our actual representatives do little-nothing for us- right?

Right, so if our representative democracy didn’t exist we’d be just as well off as we are now, huh?

Eleanor Holmes Norton is the DC Rep for the US HOR.

I believe he/she means in the Senate, DC has no representation. Well no, real representation. They do have shadow senators I believe, but they don’t have power to do anything.

That would be news to me, but I went to hs in Wash D.C. a long long time ago. Back then it was most definitely true that any decent college was going to be out of state, and our pubic hs (woodrow wilson) did a very good job of preparing its students to go to top colleges.

Have you seen a Washington D.C. license plate? What does the inscription for your state say? Wash D.C. reads, “Taxation without representation”

Interesting - it is a new program (1999)

DCTAG was created by Congress in 1999 by the District of Columbia College Access Act (PL 106-98) and amended by DC College Access Improvement Act 2002 for the purpose of expanding higher education choices for college bound residents of the District of Columbia.

I know for a fact that DC residents get In-state tuition for most US public colleges including UMD

DC residents get in-state tuition for all US public universities. And our reps in congress don’t have any voting power.

how about acceptance rate???
