The cable box should be removed as the new system doesn’t use cable boxes Normally, they can just unscrew the connecting cable from the wall. If there is a piece of metal that prohibits this, they will need a flathead (slotted) screwdriver to take off the faceplate of the cable jack and unscrew the cable from behind the faceplate.

The new system doesn’t use cable boxes? How do they get HD programming without a cable box or don’t they get HD yet?

Some channels are HD automatically through the system they use, such as ESPN, ESPN2, USA, TNT, etc.
