Dead Man’s Curve is located just north of the UCLA campus, so please be careful when driving on Sunset Bl. One of my son’s friends was seriously hurt there recently, and his car was totalled.

omg i hate that road…serioiusly the first time i drove on there i was scared outta my mind, and everyone is going so dam fast, i was being tailgated for not going fast. its especially hard at night cuz the cars from the other side blind you with their headlights, the road is so narrow too

yeah i suggest taking wilshire, if you coming from 405 going north then take montana exit, much better than sunset as that road is just hard to drive :(

I got lost around there once while driving to UCLA. I nearly shat my pants on that road! Everyone drives so fast and the road’s so damn curvy, it’s kinda like driving on the PCH haha.

I’ve driven that stretch a number of times and one definitely needs to be careful. In addition to being curvy the lanes are narrow and there are a lot of people who cross partly into the other lanes, even those who drive it all the time judging from the value of their cars (i.e. Bentleys, etc.). There are yet other people who are tourists who have never been there before and are spending more time looking around than paying attention to the road.

Yeah that part of sunset was never banked correctly when it was built, so the effect of centrifugal force is that much worse. There are tons of accidents around there, especially when it rains, but the number of fatal accidents has been going down significantly over the past 5-7 years.

^ exactly - but its a bigger area than that - the curve up by Bellagio is blind and tricky, and the one by Anderson is right after a long downhill and is sharp and not banked properly.
