<p>Has anyone seen the Dead Sea Scroll exhibit in San Diego? Is it worth it to plan a long week-end to go to San Diego to see them?</p>
<p>I haven’t seen it, but will see it next week!</p>
<p>The San Diego museum is also doing some kind of virtual reality high-tech recreation of the location in Qumrun where the scrolls were found. The ecology resembles the nearby landscape in California in certain ways.</p>
<p>Also there’s another museum in Balboa Park with a related exhibition on The Copper Age, I think, so there are some overlaps. </p>
<p>You make a timed appointment to see the actual scrolls; it’s on the website.</p>
<p>San Diego alone is worth the trip, even if you never went near the Dead Sea Scrolls.</p>
<p>Friend of mine, a devout Catholic, saw them when a traveling exhibit came to our town. She loved the exhibit and felt it deepened her faith.</p>
<p>I’m in San Diego but haven’t seen the scrolls. Maybe I should think about going to see them.</p>
<p>They were here in Charlotte—everyone I talked to said that it was really worth seeing (but I never made it there). D2 went on a school trip, and was really impressed with the history and the experience.</p>
<p>Saw them in Chicago several years ago - DO NOT MISS!!!</p>
<p>There are no words to explain the effect of seeing these ancient treasured documents. Give yourself a long time to look and ponder.</p>
