I am just doing my custodial parent form now. It’s due Feb 1 for three of the colleges. Hard to get the separated spouse to do his. Does the non-custodial have to be sumbitted by same deadline? What happens if he is a day late? Thanks!

Usually the deadlines are the same. You really should try to adhere to the deadlines the schools set. They are there for a reason. The schools need TIME to process your financial aid applications.

The custodial Profile must be done first. I believe you can provide an email to contact the non-custodial parent when you file the custodial form. Then CB will then contact the non-custodial parent to prompt them to file their NC form. That’s how I did it last year. It didn’t take too long from the time I filed my Custodial and the NC got an email notification. I think it is critical to get the custodial in by the deadline and the NC to follow soon after. It would be ideal if both Custodial and Non-custodial forms were in by the deadline, but I think you will be ok if you at least get the custodial in by the deadline.
