Yesterday, the admissions website said that the application deadline had been extended through today.

After taking the time to get my essays run over with a fine-toothed comb one more time, I just sat down to fill out the application and submit.

I was then confronted with the message telling me I’d missed the application deadline.

It’s still the 11th, the last time I checked. What gives? Will my application be late when I submit it in an hour or so, or is some tech guy at Georgetown a little anxious to post new information?

God, I hope I’m not late. Please, God, don’t let me be late.

I’m just trying to figure out whether I can get away with submitting it late due to procrastination…not sure if it’s just for serious issues or if anybody can submit it up until the 17th (after that I assume it’s only serious issues like family emergences or the app not loading)…But since the admissions website isn’t loading right now, I think I’ll use that as an excuse if I have to…

Still, it looks bad to be late. They will know if you submitted your app before the deadline or not–and I want mine to be in before the deadline.

Agreed. Getting an application on time tells a college that they’re not an “afterthought” that you added just because they had a late deadline. I mean, yes, they will read your application if it’s slightly late, but it’s approximately the same thing as writing “…I have trouble with following deadlines” on your application. Of course, emergencies are a whole different story. I know plenty of colleges extended ED deadlines around the time of the California wildfires.

I have no clue how it will affect everything…

I submitted the Personal Data Form online in mid-December

However, when I found out last night that the deadline got “extended”, I decided to mail in my stuff hard-copy (to preserve formatting of essays, etc.)

But it says: “You can continue to submit the Application Part II on-line until Thursday, January 17 without providing an explanation as to why you submitted it late.”
Does this mean that I can’t submit Part II via regular mail??
