dealing with frustrating admissions people

Is anyone else ready to gnash their teeth together and have a full on ragequit moment at this whole process? I’ve had all my ducks in a row for several weeks but have had to keep manually contacting admissions because their online app process just plain stinks (ie, you get a checkmark next to a box that says they’ve received SAT/ACT scores, but no further info on WHICH scores or dates, for example, and things like that).

Half the time only 50% of my query is answered (e.g., “Have you received my September SAT scores and my high school transcript?” “Yes, we’ve received your SAT scores”). The other half of the time I don’t get an response at all. If I dare ask a question not directly related to my application I get an average of 5 completely different answers, none of which end up being correct. Smdh.

And so on. headdesk

gifs brought to you by Google and my inner child. Click them, they’re worth it!

Have you ever heard the expression PITA?

I guess if you are sending the sat score thru college board and the school appears in the sent score list, you just sop bothering the admission people. You also need some patience. You can always send and email if they received the score just 10 minutes after sending them. Take it easy. Give them some time after sending your doc and ask numbered questions in one email.

The gifs are not worth it.

The only thing worse would be dealing with frustrating applicants who think they are the only ones applying to a school. How are admissions staff supposed to do their jobs when their day is spent answering your calls and emails…

Yeah. I would let them contact you if there’s an issue.

How many students do you think have applied to these schools? How much time have you been on the phone with the admissions offices? Multiply. Think about it.
