do we have one at ucsd???

There’s Provost’s honors, but it’s meaningless.

^why is that?

It doesn’t open any doors. Instead, two measely words appear on your academic history.

you could also get into the honors program…which is more difficult to obtain that provost’s honors.

Does the honors program begin after the first quarter or first year?

My academic advisor was saying you can take chem6A H or something like that, which is honors, does that mean if u take that class you are in honors prog?

honors program -
for freshman, your hs gpa is at least 3.8 and you have at least 700 in each of the SAT I sections
for transfers, pre-UCSD college gpa needs to be at least 3.8
for continuing UCSD students, need at least 36 units of UCSD credit and a overall GPA of 3.7

for everyone, must maintain a gpa of 3.7 afterwards

im not sure if you need to be in the honors program to take an honors course. an advisor also advised my friend to take 6AH even though she wasn’t in the honors program. however my friend’s AP score allowed her to skip 6A, but she still wanted to retake the class.

Honors courses don’t correspond to the different colleges’ honors programs.
