Hi, I am a Chinese student who will begin first semester in mathematics major in this fall at DVC. As I know that DVC is the NO 1 CC which sends the largest number of students to Berkeley, I am also fighting for being one student of this transfering group. Honestly, even though I hold great interest in math, I am still wondering about several questions , like how many units I should complete in DVC, what kinds of activity I would better take part in, and is there any chance to apply scholarship? Moreover, how could I make enough preparation or what kind of schedule I should make, if I wanted to shorten the time in DVC learning such as one year?

Any advice and information that all will help me.
Appreciate you in advance!

basically take hard classes, full time student, work, volunteer, and go above and beyond, and no sleep (joking) haha. But I know two people that got into Berk from SCC that are my friends, there may be more but I just know about them two. Ok so my first friend she worked her butt off, she was a full time student taking 16-20 units, she was part of theater and was in mostly all the plays from school, she worked also as a side to save up and she did all that in about 2 years. Then my other friend he took alot of hard science classes but decided to switch his major to bus. He also worked in the tutoring program and volunteered a lot and took extra classes. I know DVC is way diff from SCC but to get into berk, they look for individuals who have talent, what makes you diff from someone whose really really smart. What qualities can you offer to their college. To transfer to berk they also require additional classes from a separate list. If you look on Assist.org itll give you a list of classes you need to complete, so your prereq, igetc stuff, and the additional classes. But just because DVC sends the most transfer students to berk doesnt mean students at other JCs cant get in either, you just have to work really hard. Hope this helps?
