Dear Goodness, A reason to be deferred?

Umm, my interviewer asked me what i was writing my essay about. I told him poverty in Haiti. We had a discussion about it and he was roundly impressed.

I went home and continued essay writing… it became cumbersome… so i switched topics

I dont want to give the impression that i lied, thereby being deferred.

it’s too late, but what do you think?

If there’s a fork in the road, just take it.

well the anxiety has officially gotten to you darling…haha don’t worry about it. if you and your interviewer had a good conversation about it the admissions office will see that you are knowledgable about that topic and obviously others as well that you felt were a better choice for an essay. I am sure whatever you wrote about is far more intellectual than my choice…I wrote about how I aspire to be like Santa Claus…

I highly doubt your interviewer will sort through the piles of application to look for yours, just to find out what you have to say about poverty in Haiti. I think it’s better that you went with an essay that felt more “right” to you.

Honestly, I feel your anxiety, but it’s too late to do anything now…so why worry?

I don’t think you have anything to worry about…it’s perfectly understandable for us to want to change topics.

No this is not a problem. It may make your interviewer look like a moron but it would not be the first time an interviewer looked like a moron.
