Dec 1st CR Version II (Brain functions, photography, father artist...) Discussion

Does anyone remember what letter choice (A, B, C, D, E) was 6 root 3 for the triangle side problem?

what was the reading experimental? I’ve heard one was aquaculture, another was Disney World, and another was Newton/Shakespeare. I didn’t have any of those, but I had a reading experimental that I can’t remember.

What did you guys get for the last question in the memory passage? it asked what does the author say about Lauge.
A) Believe his account
B) treat Launge as a suspect
C) Take it in to historical context

Not sure about D and E.

I said A- take her beliefs into account

So for the short passages about early bird/night owls and the circadian rhythm the tone of the first Passage was more???

Was more defensive.
And yes take her beliefs into account as the last sentence dai something about Lange full of conviction or something.

I don’t think take her beliefs into account can be correct. When he says that she is full of conviction he is being skeptical. He says that she has some firm belief and that her photography clearly portrays that so she is not unbiased. I think A can’t be correct he doesn’t want you to straight up believe what she is saying.

@kingboy12 what were the other answer choices? was subjective an answer choice? Another question where I narrow down to two and pick the wrong one…

anyways I wrote my answer on Okonkwo from Things Fall Apart and a personal experience…I don’t think anyone did that!

Taking her beliefs into account is not the same thing as straight up believing her. It just means considering her beliefs when interpreting a piece if documentary photograph which I believe the author stressed.

i said she was more incredulous, because she didn’t believe that waking up in the morning meant more productive hours

Taking her beliefs into account seems intuitive but in lines 71-73 it was NOT emphasized. He is clearly expressing skepticism towards Launge a better answer is to treat Launge as a suspect because although it is possible or views are correct, for the most part they are diluted with her own perception.

what was the writing experimental, (father who works really hard)?

Is it extended personal anecdote or fond recollection for the last question in the paired long passages? The question asks which form both passages take.

@SAT its to take her beliefs into account b/c the passage basically said that you cannot be objective in photography

I I really dont think the answer was to take her beliefs into account to begin with. I am pretty sure it was to believe her, to take someones beliefs into account is far too vague of an answer and it would be impossible to distinguish A and B

Extended personal anecdote…and beliefs

Wow we’re all getting different answers for the short passage tones. I thought the first passage was clearly more subjective because the second was just stating scientific facts about circadian rhythm

Majority rules it’s tak beliefs into account!

so incredulous vs. defensive?

@nibblin I thought subjective was an answer choice?? If not then i don’t remember what I put.

Claim vs interpretation
Such people vs. some people

Also we haven’t come to a conclusion about the analogy for rich and poor

And play on words vs humor
