<p>for the appease-despondent part, despondency doesn’t work. it was like the actor ---- the others’ irriation and he joked and won back their ----, the answer is conceded and confidence</p>

<p>i don’t remember registered, vituperative is right (i put sycophantic because it was the closest word i knew the definition to =(, wth is vituperative (don’t tell me, i know you know, but i want you to tell me that you know that i don’t know and that you don’t know and that it’s perfectly fine not to know, =/ neverming, lol)</p>

<p>I’d have to disagree with the concede…confidence for the actor qn. I can’t seem to recall the sentence though. I put down defused…equanimity, with equanimity being calmness of temperament, so in other words he defused the tension with a joke.</p>

<p>he defused their irritation and with a joke and won back their calmness? hmm… i don’t know, but that’s how i remember the sentence.</p>

<p>whereas, he conceded (accepted/acknowledged) the other actors’ irritation and with a joke won back their confidence?</p>

<p>foldedpaper: I really can’t recall how that sentence was phrased but conceding other people’s irritation didn’t sound right at the time. Who knows, I’ve had only 4 hours of sleep. I know that despondency was definitely wrong so I ruled that out.</p>
