December 2013 SAT thread

Japanese- collection (I forget) and def. commemorate.

what was the parrallelagram question? i forgot it.

@ chief that’s what i put. the other answers had no support in the text

Vanilla13, what is your CR section about?

This was the parreleagram question y=52 what does x equal. X=V128

1st of all, this is my first post ever so sry if I screw the posting up.

Secondly, what did you guys get for the sentence completion with “peroration” and “valediction”? I didn’t know any of the words in that question. And also in CR on the dual passage on teaching kids programming, was the 2nd author’s attitude “provincial”, “cynical”, “befuddled” or “zealous”? I felt like his view was somewhat narrow (provincial maybe) but at the same time he was also very enthusiastic (zealous).

what was the question with the answer “feckless”?

i said zealous
i think that one with valediction was in the experimental passage. Did you have experimental reading?

i put zealous

i also put zealous

For sentence completion was it commemorate and depict? Something like that…

Good, I guessed zealous in the last minute. I guess I did have CR for experimental. I felt like this CR was really hard!

Does anybody remember the letter for the one about the consumers buying food? answer was 18

yeah i put 18 too.

@quaker789, I put compilation… commemorate

What did you get for the math question that was like: Marcus has less than 40 coins. when he puts the coins in piles of 5, he has 4 left over. when he puts them in piles of 7, he has 1 left over. how many coins does he have?

Also for the the passages about children learning how to program computers, what did you say for “what would the author of passage 1 would think of passage 2’s conclusion?” some of the answers were like “unusually optimistic” and “regretfully accurate” and something about amusing, i dont remember which one i put.

Also for the depleting fish passage, there was a question on the quote about how newer generations regard the state of nature during their childhood as normal and dont believe that things are much worse now and it asked what the older generation of fishers would believe based on this quote. what did you put?

@taejcmall I put 29

Do you guys think that using The Cold War and slavery were good examples for the essay? For the Cold War I talked about how America’s mindset changed when the Soviet Union launched Sputnik and the circumstance changed from being a war fought on earth to a war that is also fought in space. For slavery I put how slavery caused the nation to split apart and Abraham Lincoln and the American people realized that if changes did not occur then the United States would permanently become two separate countries

How do you know which section is experimental?
