December 2013 SAT thread

I said no error

@quaker789 So that one was experimental then? plzplzplz

I’m pretty sure the gemstones one was “no error” because if you cross out that prepositional phrase about their colors, then it became something like “agate is different from sapphire(?) and of the two, it is preferred.” But I am really not sure…Did the sentence have that “it” in there?

I think I got about 4-5 no errors…

I know I already missed a math question (it was so stupid. went back and changed it to a wrong answer). Does anyone think that the curve for this test will be a little more lenient on math? (like maybe 790 or 780 for -1 instead of 760?)

And, this being my first time taking the SAT, are the experimental sections different from test to test?

Oh and the reading question regarding TV holding people as captives. Was that humor or end to an extended analogy?

Do you guys remember the question asking for the line equation?
I think the answer was y = 3 ( x - 1 ) Not sure

Does anyone remember the answer to this question? It was number 9 on section 10

Yeah the answer was 3x-1

Tergram yeah it was experimental. And I got 4 no errors and I usually get 780-800 on writing so I’m pretty confident. Gem one was no error.

Kpopzz, are all of you answers right?

I put no error because if you remove the “of the two” it is gramatically correct. So I put no error since the “of the two” does not make the sentece wrong

I think it was -3x + 3 they wrote it -3 ( x - 1 ) because Im 100% sure that the line crossed the y axis in its positive part.
Do you remenber the question with y = ax / b + c
They asked for the signs of a, b and c
I forget the question but I remember these infos

For the math triangle question where it had 18 and 27 as two lengths, did the question say which one of these lengths CANNOT be true. I put A, 8, but I wasn’t sure if the question said can be or cannot be. Anyone?

Did all of you guys got the question asking for the scatterplot which best described one experiment I think.

I put 8 too. Since to be a possible length it should respect this.
27-18 < possible length < 27 + 18
9 < possible length < 45

kli, captives question I put as exaggeration. There was no extended analogy, so thats definitely out

No but did the question ask for a length that was not possible or a length that was possible. (so in other words, is 8 the right answer?)

I thought the gemstones answer was it because it is unclear as to which gemstone it refers to, and ambiguous pronouns on the SAT are ALWAYS wrong.
hopefully ill get lucky and slip by with a 12 on the essay and still get a 800 on writing #prayingfor2300

It asked which was not possible. Yeah 8 was the right answer

@krillin99 I think I put the extended analogy because the first sentence was something like “TV tricked people into watching the news.” :/

What was the 3x-1?

The answer that started with the noire genre was right i think

Maybe i forgot. Actually I want your opposite. Perfect MC writing and 10+ essay to have 800. But my essay was ok I think.
If my horrible math section was the experimental one i’m hoping for 2300, if not just gonna try to compensate it with good SAT math level 2

I dont recall any preposition or idiom questions , were they ?
