***December 2015 SAT (US Only) Thread***

@juicymango it is a possibility, i missed 1 math question too lol
11 essay -1 will definitely be a 800
-4 a 760 is a possibility, but im not sure

@sherlincapt she wasnt laughing at her mom’s poem, she was laughing at a magazine poem

@facsimilecoterie I thought she was naive because she isn’t considerate of her mother’s hardship. Even though she knows her mother isn’t fluent in english, she still replies “yes, yes” to everything because it’s easier for her. She wanted to reach her but then she said “it was much more possible to say yes, yes”. So she doesn’t want to connect because it’s easier to just say yes to her mother which is naive because she just disregards the language barrier instead of trying to fix it. If she wanted to fix it then she wouldn’t just reply “yes, yes” to everything. Once again, idk if I’m right. Just my point of view.

@sherlincapt it was specially talking about the lines tho, you shouldnt consider the passage as a whole but a small part

This story also includes what the other stories had, this generation gap between immigrants and their American born children. Parents trying to bring history to their children who are already conflicted on who they are and where they belong. Because of this lack of understanding and a sort of break down in communication, Rosie and her mother struggle to connect.
Now, how to reach her mother, how to communicate the melancholy song? Rosie knew formal Japanese by fits and starts, her mother had even less English, no French. It was more possible to say yes, yes. (59)
This lack of understanding between Rosie and her mother continues throughout the story, right in to the end when she doesn’t listen to her mother.
Yes, yes I promise, Rosie said. But for an instant she turned away, and her mother, hearing the familiar glib agreement, released her. Oh, you, you, you, her eyes and twisted mouth said, you fool. (64)

It isn’t naive. It says she realizes they are there, but is simply too lazy to do anything about it. She longs for ease of communication with her mother.

@mochilate1897 The sat isn’t asking if its inanimate or animate. At corresponds with a location, while By corresponds with the thing that is doing the actual offering. If you recall what I said about its colloquial usage, the sentence you wrote sounds right, but “Physics is offered as a class at the school” makes just as much sense. In my version of your sentence, the class is offered at a specific location which makes more sense

I put ease of communication as well because that was directly stated in the passage. She also wants to communicate but she doesn’t know how to.

how much would -2 1 omit in math be?

@facsimilecoterie We’ll see when we get results. I read the passage, I can still argue on and on so I’ll stop. Personally, none of the answers choices were that great.

@ratclown it was definitely no error

@donaldtrumped was ease of communication an answer choice along with wants to connect with her mother? was it the same question?

anyone get 5 no errors? my first no error was the dirrector and then after another one error, I got 3 NE in a row. After one more error I got my final NE

It looked like NE E NE NE NE E NE

@sherlincapt agreed on that! hate how there is no clear concise answer.

@mochilate1897 replying to your comment on page 94! I think the curve will be similar to November in that writing will be nicer and CR will be harsh. Math will obviously be harsh though, unlike last time.

Predictions:
W: 800 (I missed 1 and got a 10 essay in November which is why I’m pretty sure it should be the same score for you as well!)
M: 800
CR: 710ish (I got a 710 and missed 6 last time)

@pokemon1 did u get the following 5 no errors:

  1. the director
  2. colorado and visitors
  3. technology incorporating
  4. octopus
  5. maria and the bus

@Wqqqqqq2342 that’s right, i just messed up on the technology one ;(

technology incorporating was not a no error

it was, @joeweller had a thorough explanation yesterday

@donaldtrumped was ease of communication an answer choice along with wants to connect with her mother? was it the same question?
