Decent 4yr Korean University-> U.S. CC -> Great U.S. 4yr University

Hey guys, I’m a fellow from Korea planning to transfer from a decent 4yr Korean university(just finished freshmen) to a CC or 4yr university in the States just to get my music career going.

I’m planning to transfer again to a 4yr US university after 1yr at CC or 4yr university.

If you ask me why I’m not transferring after I’m done with my sophomore year in Korea is bcuz I want to start my music career ASAP in the U.S., and the U.S. unis only accept about 1/2 of Korean uni credits; thus, it would be better for me to leave sooner than after my sophomore year to graduate on time.

Also, the reason I am transferring to another 4yr uni, if I choose a 4yr U.S. uni in my sophomore year, is because my grades or SAT are not good enough yet to attend really great schools.

So the part where I have trouble the most is in whether I should transfer to a CC or a late top 100 4yr uni in the states.

Either choice, I will eventually transfer again in my junior year.

I heard that the upsides of attending CCs are that grades are relatively easier to get and are cheaper to attend.

And the upsides of 4yr uni are that it is harder to get grades; thus, they will give you better marks when transferring but expensive to attend.

I would really appreciate it if someone can share their tips and knowledge!

Thank you very much in advance and take care. :slight_smile:

I see nobody answered this so I’ll take a stab at it.

What do you mean “start your music career”. What major did you want to get?
Have you taken / done well on the TOEFL? Either way whether you’re transferring from an int’l university or a CC you’ll end up not getting great financial aid. How much can your parents pay for year?
