Decision about taking AP UsHist

So basically, I’m a sophomore in high school and I qualified for taking AP Us History next year, but I’m not sure if I should take it. I’m not the greatest at the subject and so I’m not too sure if I want to take it. I guess my choices are:

  1. Take it and risk having it dent my GPA
  2. Take it and drop it if at a point it becomes too stressful. If I drop it I think that I won’t be accepted for any other AP social studies (like psychology which I really want to take senior year)
  3. Not take it and get one less AP credit. It looks like I’ll have 7 by graduation if I don’t take this, and obviously 8 if I do.
The other courses I’ll be enrolled in are AP chem., AP Chinese, AP statistics, Science Research, British Literature, Precalc and either AP Us history or enriched UshistII.

Go ahead and take it. There is a lot of readings in that class. As long as you actually review using a review book and know how to write the essays, you should be able to at least get a 4. Make sure to keep up on the readings. For my hS, we had around a chapter per week to read. And we used the american pageant by kennedy.

take it, it probably won’t be as bad as you think it will. plus, you can always find supplementary material to help you keep up with the readings. depending on how detailed your teacher is, you might not even ever have to read the textbook.

If you’re gonna take “Enriched UShistII” in its place you might as well take AP.
