Decision between two classes to make application more competitive

Hello all,

I’m currently a junior in high school and I have to submit my senior year schedule pretty quickly regarding which I have a question.

This is my tentative schedule for senior year:
Advanced Composition (The honors version of senior english)
AP Chemistry
Honors Physics 1-2
Honors Biotechnology 3-4
Honors Differential Equations (Calc III)
Honors Econ half semester and AP Gov the other half (how it works at my school)

The decision I have to make is whether I should take advanced comp zero hour and take linear algebra also or take advanced comp zero hour and retake ap english language and composition (which I’m taking right now) to get an A and be valedictorian. The last option is to do neither of the above two things and just have the tentative schedule be my entire schedule. What do you guys think I should do? It’s been a dream of mine to be val. However, if I do the first option, then I don’t have to take linear in college. Thanks in advance!

I think it depends on your priorities. Nothing wrong with taking Linear Algebra in college…that is what 99.99% of people do if they even take it. I can’t imagine you looking back saying “I wish I took Linear Algebra in HS” but you might say “I wish I tried for Val”.

Thank you so much… that pretty much makes my decision crystal clear
