It’s awesome, first admission so far from a selective college!

sorry guys but how did you guys get your decision? i am not sure where i can check to see if i am admitted or not… when we log on to the Admission Status page, does “Admit Term” represent the admission or not?

btw congrats for all of those who got in! :)

Well so much for the marked by the 10th is considered ER. My son just called as he had heard nothing and they told him the post mark on his teacher’s rec was november 1st, so he was not considered ER. He quoted their website, as he had called before and they told him no decision has been reached, but since he had everthing marked rec’vd by 11/10 he was still ER. Anyhow no decision has been made on it. He was getting a little steamed, i hope he didn’t blow it. Note the rec was marked rec’d 11/3.

wow, so maybe that is what my problem is. my complete application was received like 11/02 but my tests were not received until 11/15…so maybe this is why?

i got in yesterday!
intl applicant with 2150 SAT.
it took only 3 weeks…anyone else get a decision so fast?

aramin: you were not an early response candidate. therefore, you will probably not hear until the beginning of january; also, stats are very borderline, so perhaps they are waiting to see who else applies before making a decision.

congrats to all who were accepted!

polydentate: yeah my decision was made in 3.5 weeks. it was so quick i was shocked!

How was I not an early response candidate? I had my first teacher rec, and everything else in by Nov 2nd.

Another teacher rec was processed on the 13th. But that one was not neccesary.

I called quite a long time ago to confirm that I was ER.

Still nothing.

U know my stuff from my school was 11/14 on their website. And I still got a decision. I dunno what’s the deal for you guys.

Accepted

1230 Sat Oos
4.0 G.pa

Pumped

aramin: ER deadline was 10/30, KSAN was probably an anomaly bc his scores are so high. you were very borderline…

How the hell did you get in with a 1230 SAT?

The admissions committee has lost its mind.

Mighty Nick: If you have been following this thread as long as I have, you would understand…SAT/ACT seems to have taken backstage to UM GPA in this admissions cycle for the most part…(IMO as it should…but, yea, a little surprising to what degree…

With a 4.0 GPA, I’m sure there is more to Finance’s application than GPA and SAT scores. Test scores aren’t the only thing that determine a person’s level of qualification.

I’m sure 1230 is out of 1600, which isn’t a bad score at all.

it’s not bad, but not that good either, especially for Michigan.

I got waitlisted when I applied and I had a 1310 SAT and a 3.8 GPA at a top public school.

oct. 31st was the ER deadline, and im kinda confused. I had everything in and took the ACT on oct. 6 and had the scores sent directly to them and everything else was in before the 31st and they told me, today, that I am not ER because of my ACT scores all though on their site it says:

“If I plan to take the ACT or SAT in October, will that score arrive in time to complete my application for Early Response?
Yes. If you have taken the ACT or SAT previously and are taking the test again in October, you must send in your previous scores to complete your application. Once your new test scores from the October exam are received, we will add that information to your application and consider that in the review process. On the day of the test you must indicate that you want your scores sent to the University of Michigan so that we receive them as soon as the score is available. If you are taking the ACT or SAT for the first time in October and still wish to be considered for the Early Response deadline, you must complete the rest of your application by October 31st and we will begin the review of your application once your ACT or SAT test scores have arrived. On the day of the test you must indicate that you want your scores sent to the University of Michigan so that we receive them as soon as the score is available.”

oh well there is NOTHING that i can do but wait it ouuut!!! sighs

caramel08girl same here:
“Please note that if you are checking the status of your application the received date reflects the date we matched the document(s) to your application file. Dates up to and including November 10 indicate that our office received your application document(s) by the October 31, 2007 deadline for Early Response notification.”
last teacher rec was marked recv’d 11/3, yet today they said since it was postmarked after 10/31, i wasn’t ER,

yah i know right, they need to figure out this ER. my teacher recs were received on that day as well. Maybe that is why no one from my school is hearing anything, because they sent ALL of our stuff, teacher recs, and counselor recs together???

oh well toshima we will have to wait it out, it takes some stress off knowing that they have not looked at our applications yet, right! =)

another question, how come people with their applications in like 11/15 have already received decisions???..not making sense.

because their regions are probably less applicant-populated, so their regional counselors can read theirs quicker, or they may have been superb applicants who the university wisely decided to admit quickly (think we’ve been through this several times before on this thread alone lol…)
