How did you guys check online? When I clicked “View Application Status”, I didn’t see anything about the decision.

deferred in the mail… anyone one else rejected or deferred?

Congrats! I applied end of December too but haven’t heard a thing. Nothing online either. Can you please tell me how you learned of your acceptance decsion?
thanks!

also deferred in the mail…oh well now i gotta try third term…

in… applied 20th of December

go to view application status,
then you’ll see three links (if decision is made)

View application data, view credentials, view decision

click on the last one… good luck!!!

Thanks for that head up. I didn’t know what to look for.

“I applied like…January 29th-ish. I had no idea UMich had a modified rolling admissions process. moron”

NO worries, UM doesn’t use rolling admissions anymore.

“With our increased selectivity and requirement to adhere closely to enrollment targets, we anticipate that we
will transition from modified rolling admission to some early admissions program, i.e. early action or early
decision, for the entering freshman class of 2008”

awesome – not sure where you saw that; they DO have modified rolling for this year’s HS seniors.

so if we don’t have any decision link on website, that means Rejected right?

not necessarily, it could be they haven’t made a decision at all yet, you’re postponed, or you acceptance link somehow doesn’t work (I’ve heard some stories on here like that)

wow…deferred
OOS, 2340 SAT, 4.0 GPA, hardest courseload (lots of APs), lots of leadership (yearbook editor, prez of clubs, etc.), solid essays & recs

dont rele know where i went wrong : /

thefastlane: based on one of your chances posts, your 4.0 is weighted…UMich GPA is only soph/junior year unweighted with A=4.0, B=3.0 no plusses or minuses…You mentioned that you “had a lot of B’s with an upward trend”…that is probably why you were deferred; Umich HATES B’s no matter + or -…In addition, they could really care less about ACT/SAT…If you really want to attend, send in your mid-years if they are great…

rodney, thank u so much for the advice – i did well senior year so i’ll def send in my midyear report
mm but my soph & jr unweighted would still be an A – does UMich not care about courseload?

no idea, but your deferral is extremely weird with a 4.0 unweighted GPA…Also, wonder why they are still deferring people when it’s almost March; when are you supposed to get a final decision? My d was deferred in December and we are supposed to hear a final “ding” in April (although I have a feeling she will withdraw before it comes…) Good Luck…If UMich is your top choice, you may want to have your guidance counselor call for you to ask what’s going on…

When do they post decicions by? I applied late…like the end of January, but I’m still curious on whether it will be before all of my other ones.

Hey…guys…help me out here…im a little confused…i got a deferral letter today…but yea…for REGULAR DECISION…whats up with that?..is there such thing??..do they do a semi-rolling admission at umich…anyways…here are my basic stats…just so u guys can help me see if I have any chance in the long run…i am also pending a music audition which will happen at the end of march(I applied to the College and arts school dual program)…

2150(730m, 660v, 760w)…4.49w 3.69uw gpa(before midyear grades)…midyear grades were nasty though…6 aps…above 4 unweighted gpa(due to +'s)…midyear grades should bring gpa up to 4.57w…3.75uw…extracurriculars are focused and pretty good…so any suggestions from people who know more about the process???

i just got deferred. not too surprised really tho; oos and average stats

cooldude1990, when did you apply (out of curiosity)?

I applied regular decision…like…i submitted on Jan.15th??

so I called the michigan office and they said they were still reviewing my application. They had gotten my teacher rec 12/9 and everything else was 10/30. Isn’t strange for them to be reviewing my application this long?
