Well my neice is a transfer applicant from MSU. She has a 3.89 gpa after 2 years in honors classes, deans lists, etc. I can’t imagine she’s going to be rejected out and out. Waitlisted this year i can see. But not rejected. They told her on the phone her decision will arrive by mail. Maybe they handle transfers differently? In any case, if they have the time to mail a decision, they should easily be able to send a “we’re sorry” warning ahead of time. But from what i’ve read here, anything is possible. Any one else have an opinion on this?

Hey, I just thought of something right now. Maybe they’re still reading applications, and the ones they didn’t finish reading will “arrive by mail”, so they can have a few more days to take care of some last apps. That’s the only reason I can think of, that’s the message I got and I mailed my app in on 2/1. Anyone that had that message didn’t turn in their app late (late Jan/Feb1st) ?

Just to explain my previous post. D got deferred letter in Dec, no link in WA. This morning the View decision link appeared and the “Decision will be sent by mail” was there.

Could be vptd2008. I hope it’s not the case. If it is, it’s a shame there are so many quality applicants who will not have the chance to go to their “dream school”.

rjkofnovi,
Transfer applications are handled by each individual school/college with its own deadline and requirements. Perhaps it’s under a different process.

In the manner that you receive acceptance/waitlist/deny, I don’t think it should change from transfer applicants. I was one, and mine fit what regular applicants had.

I can’t imagine her getting denied with a 3.89 after two years. It seems like there’d have to be something MAJORLY wrong with her application.

i apply on october 31. december 17 i get a letter saying “lolz we still dunno if you’ll be accepted.” i wait an additional FIVE MONTHS. you say you STILL DON’T KNOW if you have room for me at your school, and want me to wait ANOTHER TWO MONTHS before you could tell me?
