Ah! This is so frustrating. I received, not one, but FIVE emails from Duke confirming the exact time and date they’d release their decisions. why can’t NU extend the same courtesy?

All right guys, here’s the best info I can give you in regards to the decision. All of the speculations of receiving decisions on the 25th or 26th or somewhere thereof can be considered inaccurate as it isnt supported by NU. What NU has actually stated is that decisions come out in early April. In fact, it specifically states on [Frequently asked questions, Freshman, Office of Undergraduate Admission - Northwestern University](http://www.ugadm.northwestern.edu/freshman/faq/)
that decisions for RD undergraduates will be given by early April. So take a deep breath and relax.

mzk23

That is faulty logic.

Yes it says early April, but the KEY word there is BY early april.

It also says on the SAME page that ED comes out BY Dec. 15.

This year, ED notifications came out via e-mail on the morning of Dec. 13.

SO, yes, it COULD be April, but they use that phrase as a way to cover themselves if they can’t keep up, NOT to indicate the specific time.

^ That was the case for the last two years. When they say april they imply latest by April.

Last year ED decisions came out in the morning, so did this year.
Last year RD decisions came out in the evening, this year ???

College Admission Department’s recognize the stress of the admission’s process. Many schools have the common courtesy to provide a clear explanation of when admission notices will be sent.

At this time, NU applicants need to ask: “Do I really want to attend a school that has so little regard for my feelings?"

It is implausible that NU does not know when admission decisions will be sent. So, why don’t they make the effort to notify their potential customers? Is it arrogance? Incompetence? Whatever it is, it does not reflect very well on NU.

If the seller of a product treats you poorly before it sells the product, then you can’t really expect great customer service after the purchase.

No, we all think it is soon because of the President’s address last week that stated:

Our acceptance letters to all admitted students will go out next week, and I’m confident that we will enroll an exceptionally strong class of first-year students.

So that’s why we think it’ll be today or tomorrow.

Everyone just take a deep breath! That’s right Breathe in Hold Hold Breathe Out Repeat!

GOD DANG IT FREAKIN NU NEEDS TO HURRY UP I JUST GOT REJECTED BY UoC AND I NEED SOMETHING TO KEEP ME SANE, AND COFFEE ISNT WORKING!!!

Very well said, Dave1607!

I think the posts are so long on this thread because of all speculation. Most of the other schools I applied to started out with vague release dates, but as the process went on, they released some very specific dates and times. I am sure that it reduces the number of phone calls to the Admissions office, not to mention emails. Why NU chose the approach they are using I do not know. But for better or worse we are stuck with it for now.

Of course I will keep checking the boards for any morsel of information.

In the past years, the decision came out on a Saturday. I don’t know about this year but I think it will come out no later than this Saturday.

For people truly want to come to NU, it’s worth the wait. I understand the anxiety, but you are like many others in this process. Within a few days, you will know your choices. And it’s at that time you will decide on the best fit for you in the next 4 years.

I’m going to have to disagree with Dave. The reason why people are spazzing out about the Northwestern release date is a direct cause of us discussing on CC. On the admissions website, it clearly says that admissions should be released by early April. If we weren’t on here (and I am part of the problem), discussing and guessing and going crazy about when admissions will be released, we’d all be fine.

Instead of trying to use random clues to conjecture when the decision will released, we should all relax and go about our business and follow what Northwestern has clearly stated: decisions will be released by early April.

This whole ordeal is not a fault of Northwestern but instead of all of us on CC right now. The thousands who aren’t checking CC are probably fine right now, whereas those who do check it are going crazy.

^ Agree. Well said.

yea guys just chill out and think about other stuff…your decision will be out this week, maybe even today. :)

^ Disagree. The number of views for this thread is over 83,000. Thousands are checking CC but they simply do not post anything here.

Not super specific but basically reinforces what everyone else is saying.

A board member told my dad that “decisions are coming out late this week”

That means today or tomorrow. So at least everyone on this forum will only freak out for at most two more days haha.

MIT had the courtesy of releasing the exact date- and time. to the minute. I’m not asking for that, but at least the date would be nice.

Yeah…they should’ve given the date :/

I called just for kicks and their automated message said they will be mailed by the end of March. I didn’t want to talk with an admissions person and **** them off since it’s on their automated message.

I’m crossing my fingers for today but i seriously doubt it. Oh well, the suspense of NU is keeping me from the suspense of the Ivies.

I don’t understand why everyone is still speculating and not calling NU? I called Medill earlier this week and the lady said the letters will be sent out by the end of the month aka March 31. I called Medill again today and the automated voice said they’re mailing the letters.
