Decision Timeline

I applied about a week ago, however, they are still waiting for my ACT scores. About how long does is take to receive an admissions decision from the time they receive all of your materials?

Why did you apply only a week ago ? Its almost impossible to get accepted now to the main campus, its “ivy league” tough, or are you looking at branch campus…should have applied before november 30…and it took me 1 month and 5 days to get a decision for me…o and did you get accepted to pitt ?

Are you serious?
That just crushed all my hopes of getting into Penn State. :|

Well, its hard now but not impossbile anyone with more than 1800 SAT and 3.6 GPA still has a good chance…if you are in the borderline, then its extremely tough

If you only have a 3.6 GPA, you may or may not be SOL. PSU places most of their weight on GPA and a 3.6 isn’t necessarily great if you look at their bubble charts. However, there are a lot of people being accepted this year that normally shouldn’t be, judging on years past admissions threads, so you might be okay still. I think this has been a weak applicant pool for them based on the stats some people are reporting.

Also, it’s not “ivy league” tough, thats an exaggeration. PSU is on par with the “public ivies” but that does not mean its admissions are as hard as say Yale or Harvard.

I am on borderline but I have taken the IB Diploma Program and have taken the toughest coursework available. Lets hope that helps :D

My status now says, “your materials have been received and your application is under review. Expect a decision in the next couple of days” …

Etuck you are right…this year’s pool is very weak compared to last year’s, so 3.6 GPA is not bad at all for penn state
