To midnightblue23, if it says that your decision isn’t available it means that the decision isn’t on the website yet. It does not mean for sure that you have been deferred.

The site isn’t loading for me anymore, whether that means they took it down or it crashed, I don’t know.

In case anyone hasn’t noticed yet, they did update the links on their website, meaning that a lot of people that aren’t on CC are now checking as well.

ya before it said cant give u a decision now… now the site wont even load… nothing could just work and be simple… this is gonna be such a long day

I think it crashed with all the CC people there. Finding out about Maryland is a big thing. Same thing happened with the Gates Millennium like the Sunday before it was due. Servers can only handle so much.

But UMD also sent out e-mails… they knew that the servers would crash (they do so every year it seems at public universities). Does anyone know if UMD also sent e-mails to rejected students? If they do send out emails to rejected students, that would be surprising.

The system was giving me the server error message for about 30 minutes… I refreshed and then it showed me the log-in screen… then it was a server error again. After forever, it finally opened up.

Ok, does anyone know the requisites each program was seeking?

Most of my friends including myself got into the scholars program. But some ppl with lower stats got into the honors college which doesnt make sense.

My friend with a 3.6ugpa and 1470 (m+r sat) got scholars but a girl with a 3.84 upga and less than 2100 sat got into honors.

another one of my friends with a 4.0 ugpa and 2360 sat was accepted into honors but that was totally expected.

Were the decisions for these programs more based on gpa than SAT?

Really, gob786? When my friend called like the day after, they told him he could send his stuff but he’d be in the RD pool. Do you know which pool you’re in?

For honors, I was told that there was a cutoff point and then it was based on your essay and stuff and how it matched up with each program. Would you rather be with honors?

no none of the people i know actually had something that said “accepted into gemstone” but i just read online that in february umd lets you decide amongst which of the 5 programs in the honors college that you want to be in, gemstone being one of them. Then they try to place you into your first program of choice depending on amount of spaces available or something
