Decisions.

just joking about the above. More fantasizing on my part. I want some satisfaction and I just want some feeling of control over the situation.

Okay, Syracuse has to take Jets girl. I called Syracuse today and they have a staff of people to get rid of callers. They are nice but can not tell you anything. They switched me to a counselor who was out until 4/15. I left a msg and did not receive a returned call.

This is just so frustrating I still haven’t heard and I think my application was probably one of the first in seeing as I reactivated an application from the 2010 year.

(I got wait-listed VPA Bandier for 2010 and then deferred a year at another school, so I reactivated my application in August for 2011)

At this point I just want to know… it’s mid-april and this is simply just unprofessional

Looks like I’ll be going to Tulane (the school I deferred at) after all…

My D was notified that she was put on the waitlist yesterday but she took herself off since she was accepted at Colgate, NYU, BU and several others. Good luck to all those who are waiting.

Wow! Very impressive. She will definitely get a good education wherever she chooses to go.

Has anyone received any notifications or emails as to why they’re so late with “some” decisions? I wouldn’t be as upset if no one heard, but most people heard weeks ago. All the accepted student days are starting, and we’re just sitting here on this site, complaining and making guesses, and getting more and more cheesed off. After all this time, they had better be offering free rides to the lot of us :-D.

Last Thursday, my daughter was notified that she was denied at Newhouse and waitlisted at the liberal arts part of Syracuse (I forgot what it’s called). She’s going to the University of Michigan. After this experience, even if she was accepted at Newhouse, it would be unlikely she would attend.

@anothermom08, your daughter is lucky that she got her U Mich decision. My D’s decision hasn’t been released by U Mich yet along with countless others who are still waiting.

my friend is still waiting on her acceptance to SU does anyone know why it is taking so long?

i called last week and they said my application is still under review and then when i called yesterday they said it has been reviewed and i will be finding out within the next couple of days and that they are still reviewing applications…i think everyone will be notified by the end of this week if not by tomorrow

@GWUdad haha from you mouth to the admissions officers ears. and
@4cuse16 it’s about time!!! lol I honestly get asked almost 10 times a day if I have heard back from Syracuse yet.

I give you credit Jets for being so persistent! you deserve a spot there more than any of us, who are throwing the towel! Good luck to you!

so…still no word…

Contest between SU and UMich for latest admissions decisions…who will win…this is ridiculous; have any of you tried your guidance counselors??

i was waitlisted at my second choice college. : ( i have a 3.9 uw gpa and a 29 act. I’m really furious right now.

Jets: what was your first and second choice?

Newhouse-1st education- 2nd whitman- 3rd. my guidance cslr. screwed up 5 schools transcripts. All 5 schools I was either waitlisted or denied. I’m hysterical crying right now. this is not okay.

@jetsnynj ya i was waitlisted for my 1st choice college but SU wasnt a reach for me or anything did it specifically say your second choice college does that mean that your in your 3rd choice and im in my 2nd choice? it doesnt say on the email

I didn’t realize UMich was also late. We went to accepted students in January. I’m sorry you’re waiting for 2. Best of luck.

@Jetsnynj, I am so sorry for what is happening to you. Its not your fault. Can’t your counselor make some phone calls to the colleges and/or the schools you applied for? It was her fault, not yours. You clearly done your job. You paid for those applications and did them on time. Can your family do something else?

The school counselors should be accounted for these kind of errors. If the student and or family applies with the deadlines, then why should they be punished for the counselor’s mistake. I know they have hundreds of children to help, but they should be more careful with these procedures.

Look at the emotional distress you are going thru. Try to remain calm, I know its hard. But try and BREATHE!!! and get your family together and see the options. Please try to remain calm and I know you can get a straight answer. If Syracuse is the school that you really want to attend, try to get in contact with the Office of Admissions and explain and explain again that its not your fault.

Blessings, good luck and try over and over again. It’s not your fault.
