this is ridiculous :(

I don’t know what to say anymore. I am highly disappointed.

After all this time, waitlisted – got the email 10 minutes ago. I’m in a state of shock. I was denied/waitlisted at the only three schools I really wanted bad.

Don’t know what I’m gonna do now. I still really want to go to Syracuse.

My brother and mom both went there. I really thought I was going to get in.

Don’t give up hope, NYCMan17. You got waitlisted, not denied! Search previous threads about strategies for getting off the waitlist, and see if it’s a good idea to have your counselor go to bat for you. (My son just heard that he’s waitlisted as well, but we’ve already submitted a commitment deposit elsewhere.) Good luck!

waitlisted to my second choice, what are the odds i get accepted

to the waitlisters: have you all applied for FA?..SU may have waitlisted you guys because they ran out of FA $$…

Most schools accept off of waitlist based on ability to pay…

i didnt apply for financial aid

^^cole: if SU is your first choice school, have your GC let them know that you will attend if accepted…what did you put down for first choice/second choice there?

I applied to newhouse so im not really surprised i didnt get accepted, my second choice was the marketing and management school
and its my first choice

so since i am not applying for financial aid and if i get my guidance counselor to call what would be my chances do you think?

Definitely write to the Admissions office and the head of the Management school. Give them any updates to your situation and stress this is your favorite school. My D was waitlisted for MT and is trying to get off it. We did not apply for financial aid either. She found out in the 3rd wave of decisions. Good luck!

still nothing…

Were there really 3 waves of decisions? I still haven’t heard a thing…

cole: if Syracuse is your first choice, let them know that you will go into arts and sci (or another school) for freshman year; then you can try to transfer into either Newhouse or Whitman or the dual program with arts and sci…please send me a PM; I’ll give you details; don’t want to hijack this results thread…

Waitlisted for third choice but really want to go there… what can I do?

What can I do to get in… I really want to go there and we have legacy… does it matter?

I was told the other day that they’re now releasing decisions twice a week.

navna
Not likely. We have been pursuing them too and it didn’t make any difference. Still didn’t hear back until tonight.

still nothing. My father called cause I was too angry to talk to them, and they said that i will be getting my decision by next week. they also said they got my application 6 days after I sent it in…

I still haven’t heard too. At this point Syracuse is absolutely not even a consideration for me. With the way we’ve been treated, my mum would never let me go (assuming I’m accepted of course!). I suppose I’m just more curious than anything. Are there a lot of us out there? People who haven’t heard from them yet? I’ve fantasized about calling the admiss. office and telling them I want my application fee returned and to say that I’m going to sue them for breach of promise…any pre-law students out there? Do we have a case??
