I want to pursue bio-medical engineering, but as of now, my SAT math score is low. Here are all my stats:

GPA: 4.1 unweighted
Ranking: Top 1% (in a school with 650 seniors)
SAT: W-790, CR- 630, M-550
AP Bio: 5
AP Physics: 4
AP Calc AB: 5
APUSH: 5
Bio SAT II: 740
Physics SAT II: 670
US History SAT II: 710

This year, I’m taking 3 AP’s, and throughout high school have a good amount of extracurriculars.

I feel like my SAT math score will bring me down if I apply as an engineering major, but at the same time, I hear its nearly impossible to transfer into Berkeley’s SOE if I were to get in undeclared. Advice?

I can not figure it out how can you have SAT math 550 while be able to nail down 5 on calculus AB. study hard to nail down 700 otherwise hard to justify you are capable do engineering. I don’t think it will be extreme difficult to transfer from L&S to bio engineering since i knew few friends transferred from MCB to bio engineering

Study hard and take your final chance on Oct SAT and ACT. i am concerned if Berkeley is your goal school with such a SAT score
SAT: CR- 630, M-550

Note that if you apply as Engineering Undeclared and are admitted, then you can declare whatever major in the College of Engineering you want by the end of your first year. However, Engineering Undeclared may be more selective than the pre-declared engineering majors for freshman admissions.

You may want to retake the SAT, take the ACT, and/or take the SAT Subject Math 2 in order to show a better score than your 550.
