How do u “declare” yourself as a premed student?

do you have to indicate it when you first apply,
or do you just go meet your premed advisor?

because when i applied to BU i don’t think i indicated anywhere on my application that i am going to “declare” myself as a premed student (although i might have mentioned it on my common app).

I really want to live on the premed floor and it says that the requirement is to have yourself declared as a premed student…

So basically, is premed something you just choose to do (inofficially),
or somethhing you have to apply for (filling out forms…etc)?

To go pre-med, you register with the pre-med department and open a file with their office. You will see flyers posted in CAS and CGS during the first few weeks of school, and even in the dorms, with information on attending pre-med advisor meetings.

Once school starts…oh yeah, anyone can register with the office, even if you are not sure you are going pre-med. I for one, registered with a pre-med advisor as a freshman and as a sophomore decided to go with business, but I still recieve e-mails from them. The app is simply filling out your name and address etc.
