<p>If I decline a EDII acceptance for financial reasons now, can I ask the college to reconsider if my parents relent and decide to take out the large loan necessary to send me to this college?</p>
<p>First of all…when you applied ED II, you KNEW the costs and your agreement was to attend. Declining the EDII acceptance “for financial reasons” would have to mean that the school did not offer you financial aid that THEY determine is adequate. But all that aside…once you decline that acceptance, it is highly unlikely, IN MY OPINION, that they would reinstate your acceptance. You are asking them to release you from an ED contract (yes, that is what it is). Once they do that, I doubt seriously that they would change their minds on your behalf.</p>
<p>The more serious issue you have is that once you have received an ED acceptance you are supposed to WITHDRAW any pending applications and relinquish any other acceptances. </p>
<p>Perhaps you should take some time and talk to your GC about the complete ramifications of reneging on your EDII acceptance…with your parents…so that you all understand what the outcome(s) can be.</p>
<p>I doubt an admission office would offer again an EDII standing after you have rejected their offer. They don’t take a smack to their face that lightly. At best, they will put in RD and see but you’ll be at a disadvantage. Talk to GC.</p>
