How much time do you guys/girls dedicate weekly/daily to get the score that you got? If it’s not too personal could you tell me what you originally got on the ACT and after __ many hours your score was able to improve by ___ many points

A warning:
Its important to realize that progress rates will be different depending on where you are starting from.

Progress is slower when your score is already high. Its easier to go from 20 to 23 than from 30 to 33. The ACT website gives some statistics on that stats.

Your fastest progress comes when you first start studying. Lookup the law of diminishing returns to understand why.

By analogy think about running. Its easy to shave a minute off your mile time if you start out of shape and haven’t run before. Impossible to shave a minute off if you are an olympic athlete who’s been training all of your life.

My experience:
I’ve been working with students who have scores in the 18-23 range. They have been able to increase their scores by about 2 points after only one practice exam and a review of the problems they missed. That took them about 12 hours of studying. 1 point for 6 hours of study, that’s got to be about a maximum rate of progress. I’m sure that the progress rate can fall to zero if your score is already high or if you have already spent a ton of time studying.
